My iPhone now works as a remote control for my laptop anywhere in the house, provided it’s on the same WiFi network. The laptop, in turn, can stream to speakers in the living room hooked up to the router. If I start morphing into Justin Long, you have permission to put me down like a wild dog.

Update: Since a couple people have asked, the program that allows you to do this is called Touchpad.

How’d you make the remote control part work? I’d figured there must be a way to do that.

It’s a cool app. I was a little confused at first because you just get a black screen on the ipod touch, and no screen shot. It’d be nice if the display were implemented.

Also, the media player feature hasn’t been implemented on the Mac.

What speakers do you use? And is the sound quality any good when there’s streaming to the speakers?
