The Iron Law of Taxicabs

May 8th, 2003 · No Comments

If you’re walking to the corner to catch a cab, and one whizzes by as you’re about halfway there, it will be the last cab for at least 15 minutes.

Corollary to the Iron Law of Taxicabs: If you finally decide to try another corner, a cab will pass about ten seconds after you’ve left the curb.
