Weekend

Since my punditry is largely being channeled through Hit and Run these days, I suppose I may as well resort to a personal update… Friday I finally met up with fellow cracker-lookin’ D.C. hispanic Matthew Yglesias (also now a fellow blogger-cum-political-journalist with TAP) for some beverages and good conversation. Then, in a throwback to my follow-the-band-around hippie days, I went out to see the phenomenal Built to Spill two nights in a row. Which turned out to be a good call, since they played a lot of my favorite songs that second night. I didn’t even mind the repeat encore—a cover of the old Clash tune “White man in Hammersmith Palais” that, frankly, I like a hell of a lot better than the original.

The coming week’s looking busy, what with some Reason folk in town, Neal Pollack‘s invasion, and designs to see School of Rock, which I’m required to check out because, silly though the ads make it look, it’s a Richard Linklater flick.

And as long as I’m on the subject of recreational hijinks… isn’t it about time for another Blogorama? Radley? Gene? Henley? What say y’all?
