The only feature of Birtherism that seems striking or new to me is the quickness with which the argumentative organ has moved from something vaguely above the cerebellum to a node at the base of the spine. When "Release the Records" is functionally defined as "Release Something That Hasn't Been Released Yet, Whatever That Is" and everyone knows it except (evidently) the person holding the sign, we have found a political movement that could hold its meetings with flatworms in attendance, and achieve just as much.
