When Jarah Euston started her online alt-weekly Web zine Fresno Famous, she chose for the banner a mural bearing this quote:
I’m not going to be famous
I won’t get to be a rock star
I am going to be stuck on the payroll
Doing work that doesn’t interest me
For a very long time
Except now her efforts have put her on the cover of the L.A. Times for an article on Fresno’s “brain drain.” (Jarah’s cited as an exception.) Man, I don’t even have a Washington Post Style section profile; I’d better get my ass in gear.

You totally can’t let Delta get more famous than you.
Although I have to say her website kicks your website’s ass. Hell, it friggin made me want to check out Fresno.

Now them’s fighting words. But the site is probably do for a stylisitc revamp sometime soon. Maybe in all my copious free time…
